ABOUT ME
I love writing!
I love telling stories, sharing information and bringing some sort of revelation with my words.
I’m an Indie Author, who lives in the beautiful, sunny islands of The Bahamas.
Yes, this is the place where many fellow writers from around the world not only come to vacation, but where they come to unwind, relax and allow their creative juices to flow more freely.
As a writer living in the Bahamas, there is a sense of creative freedom that is stirred up every time I go to the beach, where I would sit and organize my thoughts whenever I’m preparing to write a new book. I have used this serene environment to spur my personal creative journey into the world of writing and becoming an author.
I have self-published five books. Two are books about relationships – Women with jobs, men with PMS and the Sweetheart Syndrome. One book was written for boys, teaching them how to make right choices as they move into manhood, titled My son, listen to my words and live. It is based on the teachings from the Book of Proverbs in the Bible.
My most recent releases include my first fictional novel entitled The higher the Monkey climbs, a book about politics, crime and everyday living on a Caribbean island named Pink Pearl Island; and Noise, a religious/inspirational book.
I have been writing in some form for over thirty years, having spent 26 years in newspaper as a journalist for a national and local newspaper in the Bahamas. During that time, I covered various aspects of journalism, including crime, politics, court, sports and features.
I've also spent eight years in the field of Marketing, Public Relations and Advertising.
Excuse my cliche, but I married the most beautiful girl in the world, Monique and she gave me two handsome boys - Tayvon and Traedyn. They are a source of inspiration for me.
People often ask me where do I get inspiration for my books, and my first response is that I’m a voracious reader. That helps to stimulate my creative juices when it comes to my own writing. Reading also has expanded my knowledge of people, places, things, cultures and ideologies around the world. As such, it has opened up so many ideas and inspiration for me as a writer.
I love telling stories, meeting new characters and creating a new world with the written word.
To me, there is nothing more fascinating, exciting and imaginative than reading great stories. Not even the captivating wonders of television can prevent me from curling up with a great novel at least twice a month from some of my favorite authors, including James Patterson, David Baldacci, Michael Connelly, Patricia Cromwell, John Grisham, Mya Angelo and other great writers, many of whom were not just fiction writers, but novelists, poets and inspirational writers.
Perhaps that’s why I feel proud to call myself a writer and an author.
