Why the Devil is bent on destroying men and fathers

In my last article, at the end, I suggested that fatherlessness was not a coincidence, but rather a well-designed, well-crafted, and well-executed attack by the Devil himself.

We surmised that the purpose behind such attacks was to bind the strongman (the father) allowing the enemy to run rampant in our homes. Take a look around your community, your society, and your nation and you will see how this has all played out.

With men out of the homes, away from families and out of the lives of their children, the enemy is free to do as he wishes against that family. It’s something a lot of people don’t want to hear, nor acknowledge, because they feel it’s giving men too much authority – too much power.

Well, if that is the case, then point the finger at God. He was the one who says in his word that the man is the Head of the home (Ephesians 5:22-24; 1 Corinthians 11:3) and that he ought to function as a Priest for his family (1 Peter 2:5). But it’s not about giving one person more power over another.

God’s intent was to establish a rank and file of authority.

Authority has little to do with power. For example, when a police officer, dressed in his uniform, walks into the middle of the street, and hold his hand up for cars to stop, he does it with no ability (or power) to stop a moving vehicle if that person behind the wheel decides not to stop. But cars stop because of his authority as a police officer and out of respect for that uniform.

God said that man was head of the home to set up a level of authority. You see, human beings understand very little about spiritual authority. But the devil does. So, the enemy knew that in order to get into a home, into a family, he had to first bind the strongman, because he understands authority.

But the devil’s plan goes even further.

For centuries the devil has attempted to discredit and get rid of the male man. I know for some people, this sounds like the making of a litany of excuses for men. Believe, this is far from giving men excuses for ammunition. The reality is the devil has made it his mission to destroy the male man. Why? Because he was in the Garden of Eden when he heard God told Adam that he was given authority over the earth. So, the enemy knows the kind authority men hold. So, he’s been attacking men for centuries.

It’s not a coincidence when we see more and more men walking the streets, talking to themselves, stoned out of their minds. It’s not a coincidence when men become easy prey and fall victims to their addictions of drugs, alcohol, sex, perversions and the like. It was not a coincidence that Herod in the Bible ordered thousands of boys slaughtered in his search to find a young Jesus Christ (Matthew 2:16-18). It was not a coincidence when Pharaoh admonished midwives to kill male babies born to Jewish women (Exodus 1:1-21).

It's not a coincidence when wars became a way of life, during which time millions and millions of men over the decades have been killed. It’s not a coincidence when gang violence kills more boys and young men than girls and women.

t, in the natural, many of us never see that. We just feel that all men are dogs, lousy, no good and worth nothing. If I said that men were in a deeper spiritual fight from the day they were born male, than women are when they are born girls, the wrath of the Feminists would rain down upon me. So, I won’t say it. (Like the parrot said “you know”)

Why? Why this all out onslaught against the male seed by the devil and his demons? There are a few reasons, but I want to focus mainly on one.

The devil wants to destroy the concept of fatherhood.

You see, the enemy’s first line of offensive move with his attack in the destruction of males, is designed to leave men unsure of themselves and questioning their spiritual authority as men. If the devil cannot destroy you as a man, then he will “move heaven and earth” to make sure you don’t become successful fathers.

The devil wants the world to never, ever understand what a real father looks like. He doesn’t want any human being to understand the concept of fatherhood.

So, I’m not surprised that Father’s Day is treated with contempt, scorn and abhorrence. It’s yet another move to diminish manhood and fatherhood. You see, when we have no clue of the father concept, it prevents us from seeing God, as our Heavenly father. Once you never view God as a father, your faith will go nowhere.

That’s why people have so many skewered concepts of God. Some see him as an old man, with a long white beard, wearing a white robe, sitting in Heaven being entertained by angels playing harps all day long. Others see him as a stern, no-nonsense, intolerant being, with a huge hammer and sitting around waiting to bring down that hammer on us human beings who slip up and sin.

Some see God as a genie in a lamp and if we rub the lamp just right (good deeds, long prayers, tithes, offering, and bribe money) he would come out of the lamp and grant us our wishes, like money, power or healing. And then there are those people (thanks to prosperity preaching) who view God as an ATM machine, in front of which they bow down and pray that money spills out unhindered.

Very few people see God as father. For the millions of people around the world who have grown up in homes without fathers, or those who have been raised by “bad”, “absent” fathers, the devil has successfully destroyed their concept of fatherhood.

And for the devil, he has them right where he wants them.
